Regular Weekly Household Waste Collection:
The Town provides weekly pick up of regular household waste through contract. Residents must place garbage curbside in a roll out cart before 7 a.m., and in no case prior to 7 p.m., the day before the scheduled pick up. A rollout cart is defined as a plastic container of substantial construction with a tight-fitting lid, having a maximum capacity of 96 gallons, equipped with wheels and designed to be picked up curbside by an automated style garbage truck. No more than 130 gallons will be collected from one household. Residents may use two 65-gallon carts to reach the 130-gallon limit. Refuse outside the cart will not be collected. Some residents on small lanes may have designated nearby areas where trash will be collected. Trash is collected on your scheduled day except Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If these holidays fall on your normal pick up day, an alternate pickup date will be provided by this webpage or the Town’s Facebook page.

Bulk Collection:
Residents with bulk trash items which cannot be disposed through curbside collections or at the Recycling Center may wish to use the Town’s bulk trash service. The Town’s policy governing bulk trash collection provides for the collection of brush (quarterly), scrap metal, appliances and furniture (monthly). Also, residents may dispose of other types of trash during the Spring (May) and Fall (September) cleanup collection. Citizens wishing to use this service must contact the Town at least 48 hours in advance of the scheduled pick up. **Note: Mattresses must be enclosed in plastic prior to putting it at the curb.
Brush Collection:
Brush will be collected quarterly, the first Thursday of January, April, July and October, with the quantity of brush collected at each household being limited to what would fill a full size pickup truck. Grass clippings will only be collected during the Spring and Fall cleanups. Appliances and furniture will be collected on the First Thursday of every month, limited to two items per household. Carpet and rug remnants will be considered as “other” trash and collected under the Spring and Fall cleanup collection.
Other Collection:
All other bulk trash will be collected on the first and third Thursday of May and September, limited to a 3 items per household. These items include: carpet, yard furniture, children’s plastic toys and such. This is in addition to the regular monthly bulk collection of appliances, furniture and scrap metal.
